The Power of Storytelling

Growing up, I loved hearing scary stories!  I was also so fascinated with mystery and suspense.  I am still very much intrigued by anything that incorporates these elements.  I remember whenever I would listen to someone tell a story, or even when I would read a book, I would automatically place myself in that story.  For me, this was the best way for me to fully understand what I was learning.
An added bonus was that there was also the excitement factor to this whole storytelling process.  It was so much fun to use my imagination to push the boundaries of any story.  I still enjoy this today when I read a book or I am at work and am following along with my students’ when they are immersed in storytelling activities.  As I have said before, I am in love with creativity!  I find the entire process behind creating something, anything, to be very fulfilling.
I will admit, I have not yet fully committed to one area I would like to focus on for my digital story.  The reason is not because I do not have any idea what I want to focus on.  My problem is that I have too many ideas swirling around in my head at the moment.  Truthfully, I am also somewhat nervous to take on this project, as it is very intricate and has so many components that need to be added to make it special.  With that being said, I am filled with excitement at the idea of having to create something so elaborate and personal, I know I am going to enjoy myself!
I love creating, but I am in no means an expert in technology.  I know that this will be my one challenge in all this.  At the same time, I am ready to face my own personal insecurities with technology.  For me, the end result of anything that I have a hand in creating, is something special.  I love bringing everything together when I tell a story, much like the pieces of a complex puzzle.
